Position Summary:
A dynamic and experienced Sales and Marketing Manager responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and expanding our market presence. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills, a proven track record in sales, and a deep understanding of the roofing industry.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise Sales Supervisor and Internal and External Sales Representatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify business development opportunities.
- Identify and engage potential clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders in the roofing industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Explore and capitalize on new business opportunities in the roofing sector.
- Collaborate with the product development team to introduce new products and solutions based on market demands.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Set sales targets, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support to achieve objectives.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities.
- Utilize market insights to develop innovative sales and marketing strategies.
- Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for both parties.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and proposals.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Proven track record in sales and business development within the roofing or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of roofing materials, manufacturing processes, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

Communication Skills
- The Sales and Marketing Manager must be able to communicate clearly and appropriately with the use of verbal and non-verbal communication, attentive listening and the ability to manage stress.
- Verbal communication must be clear and persuasive in positive and negative situations.
- Highly proficient in written communication, reading and writing, paying keen attention to grammatical errors and adept at spreadsheet and word processing programs.
Work Conditions
- The Sales and Marketing Manager may have to spend long hours driving, working in humid conditions and the dust nuisance is common.
- The Sales portfolio is vast and will require the incumbent to spend over 75% of their time being on the road. You will have to be strategic in your sales plan and one may find it difficult to complete multiple tasks. However, you would be required to demonstrate excellent organizational, time and stress management skills to mitigate the negative effects of the unavoidable environment.
- Mental demands from the multi-tasking and management of general duties may become daunting. The Sales Manager will have to manage stress and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
