Position Summary:
The Sales and Marketing Manager will be a dynamic, results-oriented professional responsible for driving revenue growth, developing new business opportunities, and expanding the company’s market presence. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven record of success in sales management, coupled with strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Experience within the manufacturing industry, specifically in the construction and roofing sectors, is a mandatory requirement. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, roofing materials, and industry regulations, enabling them to lead a high-performing team in achieving strategic sales objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise Sales Supervisor and Internal and External Sales Representatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Team Manager, with primary responsibility for overseeing the recruitment and onboarding of sales personnel.
- Manage performance and support the professional development of a high-performing sales team.
- Ensure all activities are aligned with organizational objectives, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify business development opportunities.
- Identify and engage potential clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders in the roofing industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Explore and capitalize on new business opportunities in the roofing sector.
- Collaborate with the product development team to introduce new products and solutions based on market demands.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Set sales targets, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support to achieve objectives.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities.
- Utilize market insights to develop innovative sales and marketing strategies.
- Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for both parties.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and proposals.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in sales and marketing within the manufacturing industry, construction or roofing experience is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of roofing materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Proven leadership experience managing sales teams and delivering against ambitious growth targets.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to business development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Work Conditions
- The Sales and Marketing Manager may have to spend long hours driving, working in humid conditions and the dust nuisance is common.
- The Sales portfolio is vast and will require the incumbent to spend over 75% of their time being on the road. You will have to be strategic in your sales plan and one may find it difficult to complete multiple tasks. However, you would be required to demonstrate excellent organizational, time and stress management skills to mitigate the negative effects of the unavoidable environment.
- Mental demands from the multi-tasking and management of general duties may become daunting. The Sales Manager will have to manage stress and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
