Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all Health Safety & Environmental matters that relates to the receival, storage and distribution of refined petroleum products between our fuel storage terminal and our retail, commercial & industrial sites. The position will also provide HSE oversight for engineering matters, third-party contractors, and for all aspects of OPEX & CAPEX projects.

 

Key deliverables will include but not limited to:

  • Tracking and monitoring all HSE related KPIs
  • Collecting and analyzing HSE information & data for local and regional reporting
  • Thorough and timely investigation of incidents to determine root causes and devise, implement and follow-up on actions to avoid recurrence
  • Performing audits, ensuring all sites comply with the company's safety standards.
  • Advising management and staff on any related laws and regulations applicable to our business
  • Actively participate in organized stakeholder groups to protect the interest of the company in affairs related to petroleum marketing operations
  • Sourcing and providing training for all stakeholders in matters related to HSE applicable to our operations to increase understanding of roles and improve safety performance by all involved
  • Conducting drills and exercises, updating plans, and liaising with applicable government agencies to ensure that company operatives can respond to emergencies and crises to minimize injuries, fatalities, and loss
  • Assisting with development of HSE standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Managing environmental remedial projects including supervising contractors

Qualification & Experience

  • First-degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the petroleum industry
  • Extensive HSSE training, competence, and knowledge within the Petroleum Marketing field
  • Experience with marine vessels in petroleum operations would be an asset.
  • Direct experience with enforcement of Health, Safety & Environmental standards, project management, industrial facilities maintenance, and contractor management.
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with computerized drawing software would be an asset.
