Job Summary

Work collaboratively with the CFO, to support senior management and other internal stakeholders in making critical business decisions by analyzing and presenting key financial data.   To spearhead the preparation of consolidated Management Accounting reports, annual budgets, periodic forecasting and analysis of the business and financial risks and opportunities

 

Key deliverables will include but not limited to:

  • Monthly Analysis of financial performance data and preparation of the necessary reporting for management presentation, discussion and decision making.
  • Developing business models related to the assessment of income and customer performance as well as cost center performance,
  • Evaluating data collected through task analysis, business process, surveys and workshops
  • Providing decision support by compiling, evaluating and reporting financial analyses, forecasting, reports and charts of data developed
  • Gathering, compiling, analyzing, preparing and summarizing data for financial projects/subjects such as project profitability, forecasting trends and transaction analysis
  • Advising on the results of analyses and providing necessary guidance for use in investment or business decisions.
  • Leading the annual budgeting exercise to include the necessary level of details and measures for post budget performance analysis
  • Ensuring there is continuous forecasting and advise to management, considering past performance, budget expectation, economic trends and any other factor which may affect business performance

 

Qualification, Experience & Skills

  • Ideally, a first-Degree Finance, Accounting or Economics or Business.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a business/Financial analyst/or cost accountant performing business modelling/metrics, data analysis, interpretation, and forecasting preferably in the petroleum industry
  • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills with an acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
  • Proven experience as management/cost accountant, or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Analytical mind with aptitude in math
  • Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and build productive alliances with stakeholders is critical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships within and outside of own area
  • Must be results-oriented
